I'll preface this with the lost luggage news. It's no longer lost! I can't tell you what a relief that is. The airport called yesterday to inform us that my bag would arrive some time around midnight and they'd deliver it to my hotel. The owner's son said he'd bring it up to me when it got here. I managed to sleep a couple of hours and woke up about 12:30am. No suitcase ;-( Lay awake listening for signs of it's arrival. Didn't hear a thing by about 2:00 when I managed to turn off my brain and doze off again for a few hours. Feeling pretty dejected when I got up. Gonna have to resupply myself and work on getting the bag back. Sigh. Just happened to look out my door and, HOLY Sh*T, there was my suitcase!! Oh, joy!! You can't imagine my relief. So, on with things.
In my first forays out into the streets yesterday and today I discovered many wats (temples) which isn't hard to do. In fact, they're impossible to miss. Other than the fact that they're beautiful and that monks live and study in them I don't yet know a lot about them. I do know that the one my guesthouse is named after is very old and was partially destroyed in the famous earthquake in the 1500s.

Glad you got your suitcase back. I'm amazed at the photos. I think I have to go there.
