New bus
Not so new busAA
Wandering around the neighborhkood waiting for the bus to Chiang Dao, I happened on these guys.
The
top fish had beautiful markings on it's sides but every time I changed
position to try to catch a shot from the side, it would move to keep an
eye on me.
Here's that crazy tuk tuk contraption
again that I saw at the bus station a while ago. This time it showed up
in my neighborhood and, once again, the owner / creator was putzing
with it.
| The squalid side. Yes there's poverty here |
These little on-demand electric water heaters are standard appliances in every bathroom I saw in Thailand. Maybe I'm missing something but these seem so practical and efficient as opposed to keeping a big tank of water hot.
| Fries with that? |
A few years ago there were attempts to make cycling more attractive in Chiag Mai by creating bike lanes and instituting a small bike sharing system.
There are sharrows on many streets but I was told that they were installed to remind cyclists from China which side of the road to ride on.
The bike system is still in place but I saw little evidence of use. Rates aren't cheap and there aren't many stations.
